Photography Contest 

 The 2020 Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge Friends (RWR Friends) Photo Contest is the first ever for the organization.  The contest is for everyone to share their love of wildlife, nature, and the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge.

There are multiple categories, and you may enter as many times as you like.  All ages are encouraged to enter, however those aged 13 and under will be entered into the Young Photographer category. 

Deadline for submission is 8 PM on October 14, 2020 and you are able to submit entries at the bottom of this page.

Photography Categories 

Wildlife
Fish, animals, birds, reptiles, insects

Habitat
Flowers, trees, grass, landscapes, seascapes, skies

People Enjoying the Refuge
Fishing, hunting, hiking, paddling, photographing, studying

Young Photographer
All categories combined

Quick Guidelines

The contest is open to all, regardless of age or whether you are a member of the RWR Friends. You may submit as many entries as you want, regardless of category.

Before submitting, make sure your entries fit into the contest categories, are sized appropriately, and that your files are named correctly. Finally, you’ll need to make sure you provide your full name and contact information on each entry.

Deadline for submission is 8 PM on October 14, 2020.

Prizes and Awards

The Grand Prize winner and the Category winners will be displayed on the RWR Friends website, Facebook page and newsletter.

Winning and special mention images will be considered for future display in a public art gallery.

All Young Photographers will receive a digital badge for their photo(s) and printed certificate for their entries.  Young Photography Winner and Honorable Mentions will receive a commemorative gift.
