Many thanks to deputy manager Merry Maxwell for taking us on the tour of three usually closed refuge tracts on Saturday. We really enjoyed the chance to see the different characteristics and habitats at Mothershead, Toby's Point and Port Royal. Merry even brought aerial maps and local history information. These three tracts are at the northern end of the refuge. We hope we'll be able to see the southern tracts in the not too distant future.

Help! One or two people who know how to transplant perennials would be welcome at the Wilna House garden Friday, September 17 at 9:00 AM. Someone who could help trench around the beds would also be welcome. We've scheduled 2 hours, but if you can only give one, we'd still be glad to see you. There will be some tools, but feel free to bring your own.
